After an (auto) update of this plugin using default settings, my disk suddenly flooded and website became unusable.

Fixes also don't work, since the disk is full (config therefore won't save, fix won't apply).

Not able to deactivate, App was causing a Fatal error. Had to remove it from the server.

This plugin filled the entire limit of descriptors, and created a bunch of files, a lot of files in the .wp-toolkit_ format take up a lot of descriptors, can these files be deleted, what do they affect?

Help, I need a tutorial on where and how to clear 320,000 descriptors, who solved this problem

I've used this for a few years. I can't say that I noticed a significant improvement in performance, but it didn't seem to hurt anything until a few days ago when I installed the latest version. My website had about 110K files but suddenly jumped to the 250K maximum file limit of my provider. Other than the update, I had not made any changes to this plug-in's settings. Suddenly my webpage was frozen, and I couldn't do anything because it filled 100% of my available space. I manually searched and noticed a massive number of cache files. Every time I deleted a group of unrelated files, W3TC grew the cache and filled the available space. When I saw this pattern, I deleted more items and moved quickly before W3TC had a chance to fill up the available space. I was able to turn OFF various settings in the W3TC dashboard. My file count IMMEDIATELY dropped from 250K to 108K. My website is functional again and W3TC is turnned off in their dashboard. Unfortunately, W3TC generates an error when I try to disable the plug-in so I can't remove it completely. Their support team was very responsive, and I'm working with them to complete the uninstall, but I would NOT recommend this app until this bug is resolved.

1.0000 settings inside the plugin, with complex configuration. Weird files generated on the server... Not exactly approves performance.

Once installed WP Rocket, everything works fine.

highly customizable and freakin fast. definitely not an easy tool, due to the many options, but when setup correctly, this tool helps with performance 100%. and it comes with support, when you have issues. recommended.

W3 Total Cache generated over 600,000 cache files, completely overwhelming the hosting of the website and making basic tasks like security scans impossible. I had to spend 4 DAYS!!! removing the files. No other caching plugin has ever caused such a disaster. I’m removing it immediately and at least now I know what to stay far away from.

Generated over 1 million cache files and downed my website.

Make yourself a favour and NEVER use it. Horrible.

How could you even in dream to think that something like this could generate 500K files? How as a even a developer you test that? It makes no sense! Horrible Horrible stuff! No matter what settings were applied, no cache functionality should create that many files.

I'm a developer myself and this is shocking to me.
