EDIT - Support did continue to work on a resolution so I am going to go 4 stars. They were responsive daily during the time they worked on this.
I have been trying for a week to work with support to get this to work. I can password protect products but not the CATEOGORY of products. We do sales for comany apparel - and our customers want their logo'd apparel to only be sold to employees. OR they want their employees to pick out apparel and the invoice is submitted to the company to be paid. This plugin does not work to password protect at the category level of products.

I installed this plugin with the expectation that I could use it to password protect pages on my site. Unfortunately it seems that you need the Pro version to do that, or to do anything else useful, like password protect categories. Uninstalled.

It does that, true. But don't get fooled by the long list of features mentioned here on .org, or the 17 tabs of options in the plugin; those are premium options.

I understand the desire to monetize plugins, but the description of Password Protected fooled me. It's really not clear by the description, at least not to me, which features are premium, and that does look deliberate.

If you just want to password protect the entire site, you can absolutely do it with this plugin. But it's unnecessarily convoluted and frankly bloated with up-selling, and there are way easier and less noisy ways to password protect entire sites.

Long list of "free" features is a complete lie as most of those need a "pro" subscription. Opt for an alternative and don't give these sc*m your precious time.

I've been using the free version for a while and decided to upgrade to the pro version. I've been very happy with my purchase, but had an idea for an improvement so I submitted a feature request. Promptly heard back, and learned they were going to develop it. Within the week, the feature was included in the latest update.

I recently upgraded to the paid subscription and was a little hesitant. After working with support on my first issue, which was more of a training opportunity for me (CSS & PHP), I don't regret getting a subscription. Very happy with the quick turnaround with the communication (@Muhammad), which can be rare for plug-in support.

I just installed to protect an entire web site and it works fine.
I'd love if a password file could be added.
I've seen such with other plugins.
