I've installed the plugin to simplify the increasingly complex admin menu of a client's site, and I've had moderate success with hiding or changing the permission requirements to access certain plugins and built-in menu items.

Some menu items continue to show up, however. These include YayMail's and YoastSEO's admin menu items, which remain visible to the editor role, even when hidden and limited to administrators, as does the built-in "tools" admin page.

There's certainly a need for a plugin to manage the admin menu, but this one doesn't quite do the job yet.

This plugin is an absolute must-have! I use it on all my WordPress sites because it makes organizing menus super easy. It’s simple, efficient, and does exactly what you need without any unnecessary clutter. The interface is clean and compact, so you don’t get lost in a sea of options.

Why the few negative reviews? Probably user error. If you understand what you want to do, this is an AMAZING plugin. you can differentiate your staging site from your main site with simple clicks, and you can pretty much customize anything in anyway. Of all the similar plugins, this is my favorite. The UI is a little dated, but then again, so is wordpress UI. I love this plugin!

Tried it, but it just didn't work.

After 40 years in IT and 17 as a web designer I am completely unable to use this plugin to restrict what Editors can see. The Help is useless i.e. totally unclear and the 'Live Preview' isn't. Avoid and save yourself a lot of pain.

Then this plugin is for you! I've tried many others to just simply tuck notifications away into a little submenu spot, but plugin authors keep finding ways around it. This plugin SOLVES that issue! I can totally make that stuff go away now! Thank you!

Also, I wanted to rearrange my menu so that custom post types appeared in a specific place on my admin menu, but kept running into problems with the numbering structure and things splitting into two positions above and below others. Problem solved! This plugin has a drag and drop interface and i can put things EXACTLY where I WANT THEM!

Needed a quick solution to hide a bunch of menu items for the "Editor" user role, so they would have a more simplified experience, and this plugin absolutely did NOT work. I went around and around with it trying to figure out why it was still displaying menu items for users that I am positive did not have those permissions. It worked on a few, but not all. I just wound up wasting a couple hours, then just coding up my own simple solution in custom plugin in about 20mins. Should have just started with that, but I wanted to UI for the client to make updates.
